George Fernandes’s associates and supporters who stood by him always are the socialists and liberal civil rights people. Lately the right wing groups also found him attractive, thanks to his association with the Bharatiya Janata party. However. those who celebrate him and contributions to Indian politics and public life are the old liberals and socialists for his activities as a trade unionist and as an anti-emergency civil rights fighter par excellence. His glorious legacy is from early 1960s to 1977. And his real politics after 1977 is mired in lot of contradictions, but his adherence to what he believed in as his core political ideology always remained in him, the person. When he turns 88 on 3 June 2018, we celebrate his life and contributions. He, is alive, but not there to tell us his story, since the dreaded Alzheimer disease has devoured his sharp brain.

This website is an attempt to project his glorious contribution to Indian politics, especially the first part of his career and also put into the second part of his career in right perspective. This is an effort at celebration of what George Fernandes stood for and dedicated his life. Controversies apart, if we bring the man and his life dedicated to the service of people, democracy, evolution of Indian politics, focused on the common people of India, with all its strengths and weakness, we will be doing justice to the man and his legacy.

This is a collaborative website, which brings in various facets of George Fernandes and his life and all his associates across India and across the world are welcome to contribute their bit to bring out the man and his work. As of now we have planned the contents in Hindi and English, but contributions in any other languages are welcome. Photographs of his activities are also welcome. Documents about him will be highly appreciated. What we have now is an initial contribution of associates and we want to enthuse and encourage all to contribute to bring in the real George Fernandes and his work. Feel free to write in, with contributions and suggestions, as write-ups, notes, articles, documents, photos, short videos, links etc.
